Overview

Go Over the Rainbow is a start-up online arts & entertainment periodical for the review of LGBTQIA and queer-themed works of art by artists of all sexual orientations.

GOTR will publish fully accredited popular journalistic articles that educate and increase national awareness of queer art works relevant to its mission through its major site categories (below). As LGBTQIA images, characters, themes, and artists achieve more visibility in the media and performing arts, the more complex and politicized those images become. GOTR will offer accessible, yet critical reviews based on the broadest definition of queer culture and strive to overcome tabloid and gossip news coverage.

MAINSTREAM: Growing Stronger

This category will address the proliferation of mainstream LGBTQI images and issues present in network and cable television programs, wide theatrical film releases, music recordings, and new media.

COMING OF AGE: New Artists, New Directions

Taking a cue from younger LGBTQI generations who are rejecting labels regarding gender and sexuality, this category will feature up-and-coming artists who reinterpret the meaning of queer art.

COUNT ME OUT: Artists Without Labels

Artists and stories featured here will be considered off-the-grid, cult, camp, outrageous, politically incorrect, or edgy.

FROM THE CLOSET: Dusting Off the Past

This category completes the arc of the rainbow umbrella term "queer" by reviving past works of art produced in more homophobic eras.
